Custom HDD Cooling

Well... today I came home from work and couldn't stand that my harddrives were at 50+ degrees celsius and jumped to 60 in full load... so I took action. Got a little AMD Fan from an ex-socket A installation, put together some wires, hung them to the case, and let it rip.

The cooler is hanging by the wires, while blowing air into the tiny space (sigh) where the harddrives are. Another cooler is blowing air from the right side of the new cooler onto the harddrives directly. This makes the little AMD cooler fuel the bigger one, in the meantime blowing some air onto the harddrives, and the bigger one is blowing the fresh air onto the harddrives directly.

Don't laugh, it does it's job, and the temps are down 10-15 degrees. So anyway, for you to get a better idea of what's happening there, I'll include some pics.

Tassadar aka. David over and out.

1.) This is the cooler in action.

2.) This is the airflow "chart".
